Pastor Brent Pennings

Life is an adventure.  And ministry is an avenue through which I, as a pastor, walk alongside of others through each milestone of that journey. I have been incredibly blessed through the connections and relationships that God has brought into my life over the course of 25 years of ministry. Whether hardship or celebration, obstacle or open door, God is great and worthy of all honor and glory.

I have fond memories of growing up on a dairy farm near Orange City, Iowa. After a farm related accident at the young age of twelve, I experienced my initial call into ministry. Following high school, I enrolled in the Pre-Seminary program at Dordt College, Sioux Center, Iowa. After graduating from Dordt, I attended Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I received his Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained into ministry on October 30, 1989.

I married my wife, Dianne (Slotegraaf), in August of 1988. She is from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. We have three adult children: Kendra (Scott) Kamp, Breanna, and Adam. We served churches in Michigan and North Carolina before moving to Baldwinsville, New York.

I was born with a pastor’s heart. No matter what the setting or situation, I desire to be a source of encouragement and hope for those facing the challenges of life.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
